Railfan Trip to Indiana June 27-29 2005
Railfan Trip to
Southern Indiana
June 27-29 2005

After a 9 hour delay leaving Janesville because I am lazy, I was finally off.
The first two trains were caught right here in Janvesille. An Inbound "B" Train
meets a Grain Train waiting to depart.

Since I was headed that direction I stopped by Forrest, IL to see how things were
with the old depot, yard, and turntable. To my surprise the depot has a new
coat of paint and the trees and weeds have been cut back. You can actually see
turntable. It was dark so I had to make the best of the shots I could get.

The next day was Crawfordville, IN. I scouted out all the semaphores and decided I wanted
a picture downtown. After a couple hour wait, I heard the detector and the southbound
signal dropped to stop. I wanted a southbound, but I took the northbound(J726) anyways.

The chase was on.

I went to the N. End of Romney in hoped of catching it there. 20 minutes goes by and
no train. Suddenly the northbound signal went to Approach. A Southbound and a meet at
Linden! Sweet! I hightailed it to the S. End of Romney. The southbound local(J771) spotted
a car at an industry that took forever.

While waiting for them to spot thier car(above shot) storm clouds moved in and took my sun, but
I wasn't giving up on my shot at S. Romney(below).

Another northbound was behind the one in the pass, so I headed to Linden to shoot him there
since shooting him further north wasn't gonna happen because of the sudden storms, but before
that the storm helped me with this photo.....

And the other northbound....

I didn't chase the local south, instead I went back to Crawfordsville, since I wanted the
shot downtown. Big mistake. They got around there train and got away from me and headed back
north. I thought they were spotting a car somehwere. So I headed to the Indiana Railroad
